if it is rated for it.will be printed on the outside what it can be used for.direct sunlite,direct bury ect.

I am thinking that liquidtite (non-metallic) can be used underground. Is that correct?

The Metallic stuff I use is rated for underground not sure about non metallic but I see no reason why not. It will be printed on it if its suitable for direct burial

Yes it can be used underground, as was said above.
Have you checked the price? It's not a cheap raceway especially when you get into larger sizes.

It will seal fine......until you get to a connection....that will be your leak point.

Compared to PVC....the stuff is expensive.

We hardly ever use liquid tite underground, because it is so expense, and a skilled electrician can lay PVC just as quick as trying to keep the liquidtite from coiling and misbehaving. I think Liquidtite is good stuff, however it has its uses and limitations and it all depends on how many feet your installing.

Expensive except for service disconnect to device. PVC conduit can be heat bent with a torch or bender blanket

I used to install electric center pivot irrigation systems. If the control panel was to be installed at the edge of the field, we used a wire duct that contained 4 #4 AL wires and 7 #12 CU wires. The duct was 1.25" and black in color. I think it was ABS and it was impossible to glue PVC fittings to the actual duct.

Our solution was to use a PVC splicer that had a rubber gasket on each end, with a nut that tightened the gasket around the duct. We would cut the ABS duct below the ground and (using the splice) run 1.25" PVC liquidtite from below grade to the junction box or panel box.
