I am looking to buy a battery booster. I want the type that you plug into a wall outlet to recharge. Can anyone make a recommendation? Make and model? Thanks for your help. Ross

There are some threads on that topic, and the search function on the site is fairly friendly. I'm sure there are scads of oddly-named Chinese brands on the market, but the good ones probably don't change a lot - so I think you'll be okay if you look up some existing threads.

Or you might try searching for the terms "lithium boost pack" or "lithium jump pack".

Noco and Antigravity are two brands that come up in some of the threads. I bought Nocos for my sons, but they've never had to use them as far as I know so I can't offer any testimonial.

I have the GooLOO GT4000S, its sleek with good features like preheating for cold weathers plus all type of usb , usb-c laptop (up to 100watt ) and 12V power supply charger as well, plus the claimed 10L diesel or 4000A.. never need it yet so. it was on sale two months ago, now showed unavailable on amazon. still available from their website I think.

I also have the costco one, that one is good in warm weather, couldn't jump start the honda crv that had a weak battery in cold weather despite it shows full charge.

The most commonly used jump pack by auto auctions, dealerships, repair shops, tow truck drivers, etc.... the Clore Automotive JNC660

Those compact lithium battery jump packs WILL fail relatively soon. (burn up/stop working) Nobody who does jump starts on a regular basis uses those small lithium jump packs..... they all know better.

Just my $0.02

Dude you need to get with the times. A JNC660 weighs 18 pounds, has to be charged constantly, is obnoxiously large, and wears out just as fast as any other charger. A Noco GB70 can be used multiple times a day in a shop environment and only needs to be charged every month, tops. It fits anywhere. It only weighs a few pounds. It doesn’t die if it gets cold. It’s small and light enough for female or elderly employees to use it without pulling a muscle. It’s available right now on the shelf at the parts store, not at the hub somewhere. It’s a no-brainer.

LOL,

We are with the times. The time to rely on a lithium jump pack isn't here..... yet! They are a neat novelty right now, but don't count on it lasting very long. Been there, done that..... and now we're BACK to JNC660's

We went through 4 or 5 of the Noco 155 jump packs and they all failed in a short period of time. They are JUNK! Our local Snap on truck dealer won't sell any lithium jump packs because he knows EVERY ONE of them will come back to him eventually, regardless of brand. He refuses to sell any product with (almost?) a 100% fail rate. Yep, the JNC660 is a heavy beast for sure...... but at least you can count on it to work 99% of the time. And usually if it doesn’t work, it's because the vehicle has a problem to begin with and NO jump start method will work.

I've posted pretty much this same comments in other jump pack threads in the past..... and judging by the postive replies, and the likes my comments get (including my original comment in this thread) I would say most people agree with me on this site. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, you're the first guy to disagree with me about the JNC660.

If they work for you in your environment, GREAT! But they don't work for anyone that I know personally....

The GBX155 is a completely different animal. When they are deeply discharged they appear to fail. All you have to do to fix them is charge them with the cigarette lighter adapter.

The GB70 does not have that issue. I’ve never had one fail after years of heavy use. Try the GB70.

Doesn't matter, we've tried many different models, they're all junk.

Project Farm on YouTube did a good comparison - though I think the comparo is a little old. I recall he found problems with the NOCO at the time, but it may have been his DUT (device under test).

What do you need it to jump? That is the big difference between the old school heavy jump boxes and the lithium.

I have yet to find a lithium jump box that will turn over my 7.3 Powerstroke. The heavy *** old school does it though.

I always have to wonder how the lithiums can get enough current to the starter through the small gauge wiring.

@rpf almost any plug in wall charger will work. I prefer manual ones over digital but digital can be nice for set and forget. Apparently as usual most posters don't bother reading before replying.

@toolenthusiast; not sure what being rude accomplishes as now no one cares what your opinion is. If you act like this in person I'm guessing you don't have a lot of friends unless there also a**hats. Here's a bit of math info for you: your statistically irrelivant experience only matters to you and doesn't make other peoples opinion automatically wrong. Also good reading skills OP wanted something that plugged into the wall.

@AA/FC
agreed lithium one works fine for occasionally jumping the wive's suv but when it comes to real jump jobs NOCO's don't work. Diesels need a long crank time in the cold and this causes NOCO's to fail every time, they specifically say they can't handle long crank times.

JNC 660. I have a couple, bought the first in July 2017 and just replaced the battery in it for 50 bucks last week. They ALWAYS work. I have a Noco GB40 from 2018 and it never really worked very well, and a GBX75 from July 22 and it stopped charging, so they sent me a new one and it does seem to work OK, so far.....
