Heres the problem:

We have a 1931 Chevrolet, the hubs of a wire spoked wheels are difficult to use a standard short 3/4 socket, it will hit the rivet end of the wire spoke, so I have to loosen the lugnuts by hand. Can't use a deep socket.

I need the part number for a short thinwall 1/2 drive 3/4" socket, maybe 13/16" also. Must be USA made from Proto, Wright, Armstrong, Snap On or Mac. German made is ok.

earlier US-made sockets generally have one thing in common:
the part number is the size in 32nds of an inch (you just have to figure out the manufacturer's part numbering system.)

3/4" = 24/32"

Indestro 1/2" drive 3/4" 12-point deep-well = 3024
Indestro 1/2" drive 3/4" 12-point shallow = 1224
Indestro 1/2" drive 3/4" 6-point shallow = 1224H

What you are looking for is the 1224 (or 1224H if you want a 6-point) but you want an early production model with the tapered barrel (thin wall.)

Check Ebay. Seller toolandpartcrib. Chicago area. If he doesn't have one he can probably find it for you.

I'm not as familiar with Duro-Chrome, but it's quite possible they may well have made the same socket (with a slightly different part number.)

I have a few older S-K sockets that have a slight taper at the business end of the socket, but nothing like the Indestro.

* This one is the later style with the straight-walled barrel. Thicker wall. You're looking for the earlier style. I have several, I just don't have a photo handy:
