My orig post I made in Feb is missing. I am sorry if this does not belong in the classifieds,but if you feel it has to be moved please tell me.
I know this is a long shot,but if anyone thinks these might sound familiar please let me know. They are not stolen or anything like that...just trying to track down a piece of my life basically. My father died in 1995 when I was 13,and his tools and boxes were promised to me by my grandfather when I turned 18. Well,my grandfather died in 1997 and my uncle took the tools/boxes and sold them,not knowing why my grandfather still had them.
So please spread the word and ask all of your mechanic buddys that have been at it for atleast 10+ years in the Chicago area.
I am looking for my father`s Snap-On boxes. I know it was a top and bottom with side cabinets on either side. 1985 or 1986 models KR550 and KR560,and I have the serial numbers here for verification,along with the orig reciepts. Red in color...yes,I know,sounds like every other box out there,right? BUT,these had ORANGE pinstriping on them with "LARRIE" across the top in cursev writing spelled with the ie and not a y.
He bought the side cabinets at a later date,and I was not able to figure out the model #`s on them. But all I really care about are the top/bottom boxes.
Like I said,I know it`s a long shot....but worth a shot.
I was able to track down the last known owner this past July,and he admitted to selling the boxes and keeping the tools. So he has all of my dad`s tools with his initials in them. He couldn`t remember thet name of the guy that bought the boxes,but he was a fireman that lived in Worth,IL
Sooo the last known owner was fireman living in Worth,IL about 9-10 years ago.
Please let me know if any of it sounds familiar!!
I would love the chance to have my father`s boxes back some day,or at the very least know they are in safe hands for the time being.
