Hello all,

I'm currently looking to fix up my 18x28 garage and I'm looking for some suggestions on flooring/lighting and anything in between.

First off I have no idea how old the garage is, I've been living in the home since 2008 and the garage was there (and rough looking) since I moved in. I'm also not looking to spend a fortune on it, just some updates to make life easier.

The first item up on the chopping block is the floor, currently it is just a painted concrete slab, I like the idea of something like an epoxy coating as its currently a pain to clean. I know its going to take some work to be ready, however that is why I'm asking for suggestions. There are some breaks and cracks in the concrete, it is all old cracks, nothing has changed as long as I've owned it, I'll attach some pictures to show the damage. What is my best option for repairing these problems, also whats my best option for removing the old paint that is chipping in areas?

Next is lighting, it currently has 5 old school fluorescent tube style lights, they look to be 20+ years old and I'm surprised they still work. I'm assuming a newer style LED tube style would be better option, maybe adding a few extra as I find it very dim when working on a vehicle or doing any work in the garage for that matter. I plan to strip the walls to change the insulation because it isn't exactly done well (attic to be reinsulated as well). Also going to run all new electrical because currently all the plugs are ran off the same breaker, so I can't really run anything if my compressor is in use, also I have no where to hook up my welding machine currently.

Also planning to change the garage door (9x7) because it is the old manual lift style that has seen better days, to install a new door with a jackshaft style door opener.

Seems like a long laundry list, however it will make life so much easier when I'm using the garage for anything.

Any suggestions or pointers are greatly appreciated.
