We manage the apartments where we live. New year's day I found this drill at bottom of stairway. Four days of found tool signs and no calls to claim. Had a full charge on battery so it must have been used recently. 2017 is starting out off script.

I own apartments also and lost an 18 volt dewalt drill. Could that be mine that was stolen and repainted? Maybe there is a tool chop shop operation in one of you units! You would be surprised the things you can find in apartments, stairways and the adjoining parking lots. I usually just hold them for a while then figure they are mine. I find many apartment dwellers do not even think about things like this, they just buy another one. Do you have any tenants that could be on vacation now and have not even seen you signs yet?

I do believe in karma, don't want to come back in next life as a craftsman tool. How long should I wait till getting rid of it?

Very few laymen buy metabo... Definitely a contractor doing some work and dropped it. Hard to say how long until you feel good about dumping it. Personally I'd buy a charger and keep it before I sold it off.
