Looking for a low - short jack stand, don't want to keep jacking the car up higher to get the jack stand under...

The lowest I found so far are the 7 ton Blackhawks at 9 1/2 inches, but a little pricey ($149) compared to all those cheaper ones...

I always use some pieces of 6x6 timbers if I don't want to go too high or can't find my jackstands.

Yup, I was thinking something like that.

I use a 'tank' scissor jack, designed to lift tanks, makes a good jack stand or power jack with an impact gun. Goes down to about 5 inches and is rated at about the tonnage of my Motorhome.
Kinda overkill for most vehicles but it is low.
Swap meet, 30 bucks.
Heavy scissor jacks make very good low jack stands as do pickup screw jacks. Not as big a base but if you are working low to the ground they will serve. And you can mod them with a big slab of wood.

Now if you lift it ten inches or more a big square base jack stand is nice.
I personally don't like tube style, built by anyone.

But then, we get earthquakes here with no warning.
Three corner feet means the ground better be level, and be still.:shocking:
