looking at a limited edition upper and lower 41" combo. 23 drawer total. its a john force champions edition. ive seen a us nationals, kenny bernstien, richard petty one, etc. are these quality boxes with heavy slides or should i pass? trying to set up a time to go look at the box. ive searched and found that most of these were 7999.00-8500.00 retail, which seems way high for a mac box.
this may be a flip deal, so i dont want to get in too deep money wise.

A Mac 40" combo was never near $7000 brand new, maybe close to $3000 if that. The 40" combo isn't bad, but nothing really any better then the a good craftsman box. The Mac boxes are identical to the 40" combo the home depot use to sell under the huskey name for about a grand brand new.

went and looked at it. drawer slides were 50 or 75 pound slides, not the 100 pound slides my current upper chest has. the outside of the box was in really good shape, but the drawer slides were not smooth. bounced around, hung up in and out. it was a very well used box, just been taken car of. he was asking 1000, and come down to 800, but even at that, i can get a new harbor freight combo for 698 out the door if i was going to keep it. no money to be made. 100# sliders on the box would have been a better deal, if they would have opened and shut smoothly.

retail price on the box, which is never the price its sold at. i think he said he paid 3 or 3500 ?
