I think this is going to be a tough one. Even the Marson is made in Taiwan. I can't see for certain where the Sharex Double Lever Hand Tool is made but that makes me think it must be made in one of their international manufacturing facilities.

Good luck!

Look at McMaster Carr. They seem to try to source American made stuff if they can and list the country of origin in their listings.

They won’t list the manufacturer of their tools but will list where they are made.

This is only a guess but it’s where I would start looking.

As said, Marson moved some/all of their production to Taiwan 10+ years ago. The rivet gun I have has Marson with the City, State, cast into it, but it was made in Taiwan per the packaging, so keep that in mind if buying used.

Not made in the USA, but a USA company. Check out Astro Pneumatic.

They have several hand operated rivnut tools, and some drill powered ones, and some Pneumatic ones too.

Despite the company name, they do more than just pneumatic tools.

They have a presence here on GJ too.

FSI rivet gun does nut-certs. I love mine!
d-100 or d-180. Watch for the long nose and right angle adapters, they are good to have.

Good luck, hope you're ready to step up. The FSi tool is nice, super compact, but pricey

I grab my HF lopper style ($25) out more, faster to setup and pulls most sizes easily

Or go old school and grab a Marson, limited power tho

Oh wow a ton of replies. Taiwan would be okay. I just know if I get the vevor unit I'd probably get what I pay for, the HF unit are short which would require more elbow grease vs longer handles

I bought the Astro Pneumatic 1450 set and have used it several years. Spare parts are readily available at Amazon and Summit. I'm very happy with mine. Just remember when setting size #10 screws and other small diameters, this is not a pop rivet gun. Just pull them up snug.

thats the unit that broke in the video i linked earlier. though that might be WHY it broke. i might get the vevor and that astro pneumatic, at the astro isn't $500 but it is $200

Sure they do, you just gotta pony up

I own both the FSi and a Marson, both USA

but like I said earlier, don't worry about Coo, my HF lopper style has been great

Do any of these provide instructions on how tight to pull them? The instructions 8 have read say pull them until they "are right", but don't really say what that is. I've not had any rivnuts fail but it always seems like maybe I'm over doing it

Remember, the fastener will pull them up tight if you leave them a little short.

The FSI is good enough for my local A&P to use on airplanes, so it's definitely good enough for my garage.

Its tricky business for sure, more of a "feel" technique. I always try to test on scrap material first, then to a torque test w/ a fastener

I bought this setup and like it more than the hand operated tools ive used. Its basically an allen bolt with a bearing and sleeve. Good thing about this one is if the bolt threads get damaged, you can just replace the bolt.
Ive used an impact driver and drill but prefer just a ratchet to tighten the bolt down.

when i say pliers, i mean like battery cable crimpers or bolt cutters or tree prunners. not so much the little hand units. though if in a tight space 16" handles may not fit. i'm not sold the on the drill driven units.
