I just bought this Matco service cart used and have a couple of questions. It looks like the MSC4BK but only has two rows of drawers, both are full width drawers. The lid support is a hinge type and I would like to change to the strut type, where can I purchase this from online. I would also like to add on the side tray, is it the same one as for the MSC4BK, the measurement beterrn the side rails is 17".

The design and build on that Matco cart looks a LOT like my cheap Chinese K-Tool tool cart. Specifically, the mounts for teh bottom tray, and that lid support is a dead-ringer.

Seems like a lot of the tool carts nowadays are made in China. I bought a nice MAC cart last spring and while assembling it came across a nice Made in China stamped into the steel. I was not happy after spending $240 on the cart.

Same cart I have, but mine I had shocks which I tossed, if I had them I would give them to you. That cart is the same as cornwell, matco and sears. Just rebadged, I know the craftsman one is 400, while matco one is listed over 500 dollars.

That is the MSC1 They were not sold with the shock supports. The overall dimentions are the same as the MSC4 so the side tray will work.

We had an MS4C just recently that we sold on eBay. Just so you know...if you get the shocks, the box opens by itself. The only way to keep it from opening is to lock it with the key. I found that to be a little annoying. I think the supports you have actually make more sense.

oh that's good to know. I usually don't lock my boxes so I can see how that would be annoying. I guess I'll have to think about the shocks, I was just concerened that the cover would fall and chop off my hands one of these days if I forget to push the brackets in the lock position.

I paid $260 for it. it's in really good shape it looks like it has never been used the liners and paint on the inside are perfect not a scratch or ding. The top cover does have a few of scratches on it, it looks like it was just sitting in the garage and stuff was stored on it. Its a really well made cart and is solid but I didn't realize how big it was till I went to pick it up it makes my old cart look like a midget.
