Hey guys,

Slowly putting my lift together and running. Installed the anchors today.

-Drilled 5/8" pilot hole. 2" deep.
-Drilled 7/8" finish hole. x10
-Slab is 5" thick.
-Drove the anchors into below concrete surface as in instruction book.
-Positioned the posts and torqued to 80 ft.lbs. each.
-Removed the bolts to look at anchors, all are still below concrete surface.:)
-Shimmed accordingly for plumb and re-torqued.

Now my question is......what did you guys torque these bolts to?

I don't plan to move the lift after torqued.
Will post pics when I get there.

Thanks.

Once the anchors are set, I just give a decent tug on a 1/2 breaker bar and use the lift....Good question though, been asked, but I don't remember if it was ever answered.

I don't see any need to torque that much. The anchors are already initially set at 100 ft-lbs, so I just tighten them snug to about 40-50 ft-lbs every time I move them back into place to lessen chances of pulling the anchors out to the surface.

I've been studying the installs and read Ryan's first post about the trouble he had with the anchors. I was thinking a plate anchored to the floor with more appropriate and easy to use fasteners would be in order. Having used concrete anchors to secure machinery to the floor for occaisional use, I'v had first hand experience with them coming loose or pulling out, stripping threads, etc. from the repeated use and abuse.

Just a thought...

I had a chance to use my lift last night and thought of this thread...I did my "breaker bar pull" and then checked with a torque wrench... I was between 75 and 85 ft/lbs...so I guess that matches up with Danmar's recommendations.
