Metallic epoxy coating for my kitchen floor?

I bought a new house back in march, and have been quite busy with work, and trying to get my new shop set up / unpacked...

my house I essentially moved in in under 3 days and viola! do a lttle here and there.

I painted the entire interior, took me and my crew 2 straight weeks... 3 days to prep to spray, 4 hours to spray... 6 days to paint walls ceiling and trim... and I pretty much left it at that.

Anyways, outside of small on going projects, I have decided to move my 'gaming' office out of one of the bed rooms and into the back room... and in that quest began researching building a new custom desk... particularly top top part, which led me to the metallic epoxy coating...

I have carpet in my kitchen at the moment - FAIL

I plan to rip that up, and after looking at the cost, both financially and labor, for linoleum, I am thinking of doing my kitchen floor with this stuff.

I know alot of you folks did your garage floors, one solid color and they look nice, but check this out:

I dont know about you, but that looks quite bad *** to me

I don't think I would want it in my kitchen, but if you like it then I would get it. It certainly is different.

I've got a mate who did his kitchen & laundry with Rust-Oleum Rocksolid Metallic and is happy with it.

Metallic epoxies are very nice and 'in style' right now. But..they tend to be very applicator technique dependent, with widely varying results as to outcome. Temperature and humidity can also affect outcome, so in the hands of a novice installer, the results may not be what you expect, or may not look like the photos online.

We always caution our metallic customers about this potential problem, and hence because unlike solid colors which are very forgiving, we do not offer an appearance warranty.

This will add interest to a kitchen, big time!
The best metallic floors are covering flat, low imperfection floors.
Therefore, if you go this way, be sure to treat your floor like the body of a car before a paint job.

I found rust oleum sells a similar product at home depot. Im very much a buy it locally with cash, even if means paying a little more...

Ill try it out, if I dont like it, I can always go over it with whatever.
