Yet another new guy. Been lurking for a few months, fairly new to the HAMB too with the same handle. I have a typical early 50's Long Beach track home with a detached two car garage that has become too small. 18' x 19'. Probably could dump some stuff. My 6' long driveway (corner lot) doesn't help with car storage issues either. Original owner built an equaly sized "storage building" behind it to store his extra children. They raised 6 kids in this 1,200 sq ft house. After 15 years of leaving it as a depository for old furniture etc, I'm gearing up to punching through and doubling the size of my garage. My two main issues, 1. What size header to support the roof when removing the original rear wall that seperates the two. 2. What to do about the 4" difference in the slab levels?

Looking forward to learning a lot here as I have on the HAMB.
