Milwaukee m18 on clearance?

saw those big 100$ lights on clearance end cap of my HD.

now regular price is 99....and i twas on clearance for....99

If nobody bought it for standard price chances are they will reduce the price again, this time for real.

To main question, is this nation wide or just that store, you guys notice it on clearance by any chance?

They are 99$ here as well, I am not sure if they are clearance or not though.

I don't know why Amazon says the MSRP is $159. I bought mine within days of it coming out for either $99.

The website of the store I bought mine at says the MSRP is $165. But they're still selling it for $99. Weird. I'm not so sure you found it on clearance. Perhaps if you saw it for $96 or some other minimally reduced price, I'd be more convinced.

I'm quite happy with mine. It's the first cordless light I don't have to worry about perfectly positioning to get the light I need.

I was showing it to someone at work, and his comment was:
"That looks like it's going to be as bright as"
and mid sentence, he pushed the on button, and yelled (as he staggered backwards)
"THE SUN!"
Yeah, that was a good laugh.

It shows up in the Seasonal Gift Center section of HD online, so I had figured it may go on clearance in the near future.

It's always been $99 AKAIK. It was $79 thru Acme Tools for BF, but I didn't pull the trigger. I might opt for M18 lantern before this (which some HD's are stocking).

I have the M12 lantern. It strikes me as more of a lantern in the conventional sense, ie I hang it from a finger when walking out to the woodpile at dark, or best suited standing up as an area light in 360 mode. I have a friend who lives off the grid and think this would be awesome for her at night bumming around the house (plus its got high/medium/low). I have not used or handled the floodlight but it seems more like ******** maximum illumination for indoor jobsites, on a tripod maybe, etc

For engine work I'd get the stick light.

edit:I was surprised to see my local HD had several of the M12 lanterns in stock, $59.99 IIRC.

Have you put your hands on either of them? I'm wondering which would be best to shine down on an engine.

I have both, but have not used either for exactly that. I much prefer the flood light for what I do, but would guess the lantern would be more likely to get down into places that the flood would just create shadow. Both seem a little clumsy though for that.

^^^Agreed on clumsy. The weighting and proportions of the lantern don't make it an ideal "trouble light."

I have used both of them under my trucks at times, but usually use the M12 stick light or the M12 Led Flashlight under the hood, or some other form of led light.

I believe $120 for the M18 LED floodlight was the price I bought it last year.

I would get the M18 lantern instead of the floodlight bc it's more versatile.

Hmmm, mine has several too according to the website. $59.00. Would come out to around $39. It'll definitely be useful, especially for the price, even if it won't work well for what I want.

I was in a HD in Colo Spgs that had one or two of the M18 lanterns also, again at standard retail which I believe is $79. The M18 nets you taller light tubes from what I can tell. I've been charging my iPhone off the USB in my M12 lantern when I'm in the shop, FWIW. That obviously won't be convenient or necessary for a lot of people who just have wall chargers or a phone w a strong battery.

It's marked $90 with a 4.0 battery, and after buying & returning the $370 Dewalt kit, I ended up with $60 out of pocket. Only issue, no M18 charger lol

Regarding brightness, I believe the M18 can be just affective as the M18 floodlight because the light spread is superwide and you can place it near your work area. Will it be effective for all lighting situation? probably not. There are advantage/disadvantages for either one.

A little in some ways, but not as bright.

20$ for dual m12/18 charger on ebay . i picked one up anticipating some new bare tools .Search for this part number: 48-59-1812
