I'm not done yet insulating the shop, but I want to say this stuff really seems to block the noise good like they said. I only have about a 1/3 of the roof done on my steel building, so it's very obvious when it rains and if it rains hard enough it is deafening. Now with that being said I put my ear up to the part of the roof where I had the insulation completed and you couldn't even hear the rain. This was R30 and it didn't quite fill the gap, but was told that was a good thing for sound coupling. This wasn't even the safe and sound it was the comfortbatt. There is about an inch of space in between the roof and the insulation. So I'm a happy camper. I had to put ear muffs on in a heavy downpour before. lol Just thought I would share my experience.
