Mini Split extra line set

Hey dudes... long time lurker and this may be my first post. I have no idea... So my engineering brain kicked in and i'm in the camp of leaving the extra coil laid horizontally... has anyone 'decked' up their unit and hid the extra line set underneath their compressor unit? Just seeing if this is a terrible idea or a great one. My ego won't care either way.

It's a Mr Cool DIY version 18k btu if anyone needs to know. I don't have pictures as i haven't even started. Still wrapping my head around this tiny issue i will run into.

I was able to hide mine in my basement, in a loop.against the wall. Worked fine.

Check your manual. They may specify an orientation requirement

Think I'm going to mount it under my actual deck instead of coiling up. Would keep the snow/sun off the unit anyways. I think it might have worked though.

Loops should be in a horizontal plane so oil won't get trapped.

They might not but it's good refrigeration practice. Wouldn't you think that the same size unit with the same size line set would have the same velocity of the refrigerate and what would be the difference?

I have no idea. I just go by what they require/recommend

And Senville doesn't even require you to check the vacuum when pulling the system down. The manual just says "run the vacuum pump for 10 minutes", then release the charge.

A lot of the manufacturers simply don't care if the system lasts a while. I'd follow best practice.
