Mirror repair question

Does anyone have any knowledge on repairing a mirror? The glass is intact, the reflective part got scraped off. This mirror is mounted to a wall, and when removing the back splash of a counter top that was right under it, some of the reflective got scraped or flaked off. Rather than remove the mirror and replace it(it goes all the way up to the ceiling), I am hoping there's a paint I can buy, notch out the wall a little, and shove a paint brush behind it and re-coat it. Is this possible, or am I dreaming?

not so simple as you want it to be.

it needs to be re-silvered, but the only way to do that is to lay the scraped and cleaned glass, flat and start the re-silvering if you can still get the products to do so. I have not done one recently.

The circular shape of those defects looks like spalling to me. Which means that glass is missing, and if you re-silver it, you will still see the damage.

You could buy some chrome spray paint, spray it into a cup, and use whatever you can fit into the gap to apply it (perhaps a toothpick, or folded piece of paper or cardstock). It will still look terrible, but much less terrible than nothing.

Put a piece of trim over it....Picture frame the mirror in something that contrasts, but compliments the counter top and wall treatment.

It was the counter top installer that damaged it while removing the new back splash, they were removing it because they made a mistake and had to bring it back to their shop. Long story. Anyway, after apologizing to us, they made a taller back splash for us that almost completely covers the blemish, but my other half wants the same size back splash as the other bathroom. Hence my trying to repair it. Thanks for the replies, and if anyone else has any suggestions, please make them. Thanks again.
