MMA Cost and Availability?

I have been trying to find some cost info for MMA and I think the term "MMA" is too short to be useful in our search engine, as I am coming up with a lot of unrelated results.

Can someone tell me if MMA is a do-it-yourself type product, and if so, what it costs to do a 550 sq foot space? I'd like to coat my floor this winter but the weather is already getting cold here.

thanks
Joel

You'll get better search results with terms like 'MMA flooring':
http://www.google.com/search?q=mma+...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

MMA is an acrylic floor treatment - stays flexible, tough, stain can be added, fast cure, not cold sensitive (when applied), etc..

I don't think it's a product that you'd want to do it yourself. (I don't even know how accessible the product is at retail).

We paid < $3.00 per square for our garage condo, but that was part of a much larger 'total job'. I've heard that prices are typically range between $4 and $5 per sq foot for a smaller project.

Here's a glimpse of ours:

Thanks for the reply. I saw your "condo" and it is a gorgeous project.

That said, for my garage I would prefer to do it myself (glutton for punishment!) so I guess I'll be waiting for spring and doing the epoxy floor. I could swing 3 / sq ft but 4-5 is out of my price range.

Thanks.

FWIW, my $4-5 per sq foot was a 'done' price estimate.

If you do it yourself, I'm certain the MMA would be a lot cheaper than that.. Our guys implied that they get about 100 sq ft per gallon.. Don't know the cost per gallon.

Best of luck with your project!
