Mobile Tool Carts with Vises Built In?

There's some talk on the forums about people modifying their tool carts to drill vises into the top, but I haven't seen any OEM tool carts that are pre-tapped for a vise mount or have one already built in.

I don't have a garage and am not a pro. I did grow up doing construction with my dad and inherited many tools when he passed. I live in a condo and have been looking for a nice way to store a small number of tools in an accessible way like a small tool cart. I just do small repairs around the home and also various small projects.

In many cases for the small projects I do, I'd love a vise. I tend to use vise grips and improvise holding the thing down. There's no chance I can fit a legit full workbench my condo, but I can get a small cart and roll it into a closet when not in use, or if I get a nice looking chrome/silver one, I can keep it in the kitchen 24/7 and it will match the layout (#BachelorLife).

I make good money as an IT consultant and it's not a big deal for me to drop $2k or so on a SO tool cart if it will fit my needs. But I would love something with a vise on top. Even though I'm not a pro, I have a strong desire to own pro-grade tools and take pride in ownership.

Most carts to not lend themselves to mounting a vise as they either have a flip top or sliding top which neither would be good for a vise. A traditional roll cab with either a good wood or steel top would work. I would stay with a 3" or 3 1/2" vise since unless the roll cab unless loaded heavy, it won't be the most sturdy base to mount a vise.

Figure out what size you want in a cart.

If my budget was relatively open, I would look at the SO carts that are a single bay, all-drawers-height, non-openable top. If memory serves, they can be had with a lot of room and under 2k. SO, or a local driver you'll buy from, can advise on an accessory vise mount.

Although like BCD mentioned, heavier work can make it tipsy.
