Can one Mod see what another Mod does?? Example... One mod deletes a thread deamed unapporate for garage journal. Can another mod see who deleted the thread??

How does one become a mod here? I DONT want that kind of authority. I'd ban everyone. Just curious how it works....

If a thread or post is "soft" deleted, then other mods can see who did it. If it is "hard" deleted, then ****, it's gone.

Soft delete puts the post/thread into a ghost realm where only mod/admin shamans can see it. It is not sent to our mod section though. Not sure if that is an option in the software.

Sounds like a nice single click instead of moving the thread

I don't let my mods delete anything. We put all unwanted post into a recycle bin in the mod section. Never know when you might need them.

That's the way it works on the vbulliten forums I mod.

Move it to the dead thread/recycle forum in the "only mods and admins can see" area.

That way it's evidence if any issue per any member occurs or re-occurs or can be ressurected if deemed OK.

Mods here are very transparent and forgiving but for the most part most here on GJ act like adults.
Mod a local sports car forum or anything worldwide involving youths who just got thier licensce and want to put a 2JZ in their Honda or rusting Celica and it's like monitoring a High School detention class.
LOLOLOL.

That funny. Sometimes it's hard enough to get the adults to act like adults. I can't imagine trying that with a group of high school age.

I am on another forum about a specific ATV and their mods are a joke. If someone asks a question that another member "thinks" is not important or that the answer should be known already then they will post a pic of a d**k with a face on it instead of replying like a adult or asking them to search first ask second. The mods are known for joining in on the childishness behavior.

we physically move the thread in vbulletin to the mod section on the forum I mod on
yup.. that's how i did it on phpbb.. it took quite a few clicks.
the admin sold the forum, unannounced.. no big deal.. until the new owner tried to convert to vbulletin and all the years of content lost formatting and pic links.
people quit arriving from that day on.. he did not renew the domain a few months ago.
