Mounting Truck Toolbox

I'm not sure if i am posting this in the right forum, but i need help. My 79 ford truck right now has a flatbed, and i might want to put a pickup bed back on it. I have a 6.5' long knapheide topside 2-door toolbox (similar to the one attached), I have already figured out that if I continued to use this box, it would not fit going sideways (doors facing tailgate) against the front wall of the bed, but it might fit over the wheel wells going down the drivers side wall of the bed (with the doors facing the inside of the passenger side wall). I do not know what the best way to mount it is?????

Those boxes are typically mounted on the bedrail facing outwards,

If you don't mind climbing into the bed every time you want something, it will work.

But, as said, most guys put them up on the bedrails facing out, so they can just walk up to the side of the truck to get something out.

Take some angle that's almost as wide as the bed rail, and run bolts through the box / angle iron / bedrail, the angle would help spread the load out a bit on the bed rail.

Run some angle down the back side of the box (the part inside the bed), and run legs from there down to the bed and run a bolt or 2 though them to keep it from tipping/sagging/falling into the bed.

make a stand out of angle iron that will place it at the right height to the bed rail.
mount stand to the bottom of the bed and to the inner edge of the bed rail
mount the box on top of the stand

alternative
cut into the bed side down to the top of the inner wheel well hump
fit the box into the cutout and weld in place

i love that idea but i bet it would look pretty shotty
