Hi Guys,

I live in Canada and Im thinking of ordering a Big Maxx heater from Northern Tool + Equipment.
Has anyone ordered one and had it shipped to Canada, and if so did they charge brokers fees,or just the actual shipping cost?

Thanks Mike

I ordered on the last of September. It came in damaged. Still waiting for Northern to contact UPS to pick it up. Northern said that after they get it and evaluate it, they will send me another one.

Tomorrow my 500 gal. propane tank is supposed to be delivered ( provided my heater is hooked up and plumbed in).

That is canceled, now.

Re-think Northern before you buy. I am sure they have a lot of sales and and are trying to help me as quick as possible. Couldn't they send another and then pick up the bad one?

Maybe they got ripped in the past by someone sending back a box of rocks or something???? That ruins it for all of us.

Here is a link with pics of my damaged shipment:

I've bought lawnmower seats, blades, etc. from them, but when there is a problem and how they handle that, tells about a business.

My 75,000 btu Mr. Heater showed up yesterday from Northern Tool without a mark on it. Took less than a week from the time I placed the order. I'm very happy with their service so far.

Finally got my replacement today. I ordered it September 30th.

It looks ok. It's just a heater.

Catch22 - Do you live anywhere near the Canadian - US border? My Canadian motorcycle friends have similar problems with some bike parts and have the items delivered to friends in, for example, Detroit and take it across the border themselves.
This can help in the total cost and, assuming you're near a border, can speed things up quite a lot.
