We've been doing some moving of equipment in my gym the last two weeks and I needed a bunch of floor anchors to anchor some equipment, (ring tower, single rails, uneven bars etc) in new locations. Lowes only sells short anchors so I had to online order them. At 9pm on Wednesday night I ordered 16 floor anchors from MSC. Friday afternoon they were sitting on my desk at the gym. No extra shipping fee either. I used the cheapest shipping MSC offered.

And of course the Big Blue Book arrived soon after.
So I give MSC an A+ for this one.

I have ordered from MSC a number of times. There customer service is excellent, prices are fair and they have everything !
Another Industrial supply company is :

Again I always have good luck in dealing with them. Next day shipping also. Even if I order at 4pm, my order will arrive the next day. At the regular shipping price !
Grainger is also an excellent company. I place an order I pick it up tomorrow if they do not have it in stock.

I've had great service with MSC too. We use them often at work plus I have a personal account with them for stuff I order outside of work.

I have the CD rom along with the Big Book.

They do have great customer service & fast shipping along with a lot of products but unless you need something fast you can find better deals on some things elsewhere. Particularly hand tools.

I have ordered quite a bit from J&L Industrial. They had great service, fair prices, and quick shipping. Now they are owned by MSC and from what I can tell so far, the service is just as good.

Been very impressed with McMaster -- though I've also found some stuff that they sell for say, $80 direct from the manufacturer for $20 (and via a distributor for $40). But they're great for speed, and their catalog is amazing. And they have or will get almost anything imaginable.

Have also used MSC with great pleasure and used to use Grainger a long time ago.

J&L and MSC are now one in the same. The only real problem with J&L and MSC is that they flat out **** you on shipping. Their prices are typically not that great to begin with. Add in their shipping and you're screwed right in the wallet. Their ONLY saving grace is their extensive selection. Over the last 5 years Elroy have never found them to be stocked out.

PAToyota agrees with Elroy's analysis. :)

I can often find things cheaper elsewhere - even cheaper than their "sale" prices most of the time. But some things I'm hard pressed to find elsewhere.

Their one distribution facility is about half an hour from me. My father and I head up there a few times a year to stock up on certain things to save on the shipping. You can also find some decent deals there on open box/returns type stuff. Too bad it isn't closer or I'd stop in more regularly just to see what they had in that regard.
