My Pop's garage

Here are a few pics of my Pops garage that my brother and I helped finish. Its a 24x24 attached. It started out as bare stud construction. We added a few outlets, insullated and put up preprimed exterior OSB 4x8 siding. It the first real garage he's had in over 30 years and he is always tinkering around out there keeping things organized so hes happy. Mom is happy to because he is out tinkering around and is out of the house.

I like those cabinets. Did you insulate the ceiling, or are you planning to?

The ceiling will most likely be next summers project. The soffet vents are open to the space between rafters so we will need to install chutes to provide an air gap before insulation. Still havent decided if we are going to do sheetrock or the siding though, leaning twards sheetrock due its ease of install compared to the siding. Once we get the ceiling done then we can figure out how to heat it. Then dad can tinker in comfort in the winter.

The cabinets were left behind by the provious owner. They are made out of 1/2" marine grade partical board and are about 6' in length. The bottom cabinet is 36" tall and the upper is 5' tall from the top of the bottom cabinet. The upper was a real pain to lift into position, it must weigh 200lbs.

I'm going back this weekend so I'll double check on it. I'll see if I can get a manufacturer on it as well.
