Hi Everyone,
Time for a quick intro--I've been lurking here for some time and decided to finally post.
I'm 48, family man, living in northern VA. At 50 I plan to "retire" from my current job and start building on some land I bought out in the country (Linden, VA). I'd eventually like to build a nice retirement home, good sized shop/barn, and start a hobby vineyard and garden.
At this point I'm just here to get ideas and inspired from everyone. I have a lot going on with 2 kids and elderly parents. I am hopeful I can slow my life down in 2 years and can start spending some time at my own pace rather than someone else's.
Initially you won't see too much of my posting--I tend to keep quiet for the most part. As I plan my journey I will increase posting frequency with questions on specifics, and once I actually start I'll post my progress.
In the meantime, I will go back to lurking...
