My RaceDeck Project!

After much studying of floor solutions here on Garage Journal I decided on RaceDeck. We are located in Southwest Florida so heat was the general concern and I was still not convinced epoxy would hold up in the long term with the car tires. This is a 3 car attached garaged and it is a common layout here in Florida.

After removing a bunch of ad hoc wall mount shelves from prior owners, much cleanup and complete wall and ceiling paint, the RaceDeck was ready to install. Ashley at RaceDeck was fantastic to work with. Great communication and the entire transaction plus delivery occurred as expected. The truck delivery dropped the entire pallet of boxes right in the garage.

The RackDeck installation is very easy. Although you could use your feet to stomp the pieces into the locked position I found it easier and faster to use a rubber mallet as my wife handed me the correct pieces. Approximately 99.9% of the pieces were installed as-is and then I used a skill saw to trim the final odd pieces.

I did use standard black gardening mat purchased at Lowes under the RaceDeck to reduce any potential noise clatter. The end result is much better than I expected. Easy to install and looks fantastic. We still have some final details to finish like hiding the water heater and AC/HEAT unit. We have some ideas at IKEA we plan to use to complete that and to hide the complete back corner and yet ensure it is still accessible when needed.

Everyone thank you for the welcome and compliments. Although, I have been a member on this forum since 2006, this was my first post. I thought that I had posted a prior garage project but I don't see it. This forum continues to be a great resource for garage ideas!

Boobag....the Fiat's are great runaround cars here in the Sarasota traffic and a good fit for the smaller garages. I have my Corvette and Mustang in a larger detached garage that will likely be a future Garage Journal project. This RaceDeck project is just the house attached garage. But what about that state you live in.....Illinois....LOL (it's the reason why we moved to Florida)

Very cool garage. I've often fantasized about having a Fiat 500, especially for the space it would give me in the garage :)
