I need to supply a a few of my mobile guys with torque wrenches to confirm torque specs when they change customer tires on road service calls.

Not looking for the HF option but since these will be "shared" I don't want a "top" end unit. I may also buy them for a couple of them to keep and a couple will be put in a go kit for others.

Just looking for ideas/recommendations

Thanks

Thanks for the link, I missed that in search and most of the ones I read are more than a few years old and I know things change.

I like the USA part of the deal as well. I doubt I can find any gearwrench at HD that are still USA made.

I bought one of the Craftsman 1/2" click type torque wrenches from Sears when they were on sale. Compared it to my two Craftsman USA units and my Snap On and they were all within same specs. When they go on sale for $39 it might be a good idea to grab a few. No worries of losing or breaking them at that price. Although I have never used a HF torque wrench, I didn't like the way they felt and heard conflicting reviews of them.

I strongly second the Precision Instruments 1/2 drive split beam torques wrench.

They might be a little more than you want to pay but, they will survive the harshness of roadside service calls and retain their calibration longer than anything else on the market. Accurate & durable, US made too.
