I purchased the following Compressor. BelAire 2-HP 60-Gallon Single-Stage. I need help or suggestions please. I can't run the compressor off the 240 option so that limits me to the 120. My main question is can i just cut the female end off a 12 gauge extension cord and wire to the compressor. The compressor will rest right next to a 20A outlet. So maybe 5 ft of cord. I do not intend to run anything other than an Air Ratchet on occasion. Mainly spraying. Thanks for any guidance or advice.

Is the motor able to run on 120V?. What does the label on the motor say?.

Scratch that I looked it up. Yes it can. It'll explain in the instructions how to re-wire it for 120volt operation. As far as the rest off it. Use #12 gauge wiring if it's a short run. If plugging it into a receptacle, use all 20 amp rated parts. Also make sure it's got a dedicated 20amp circuit.
