So heres the thing, the place i was doing some work for, safety is a big deal there, this cutoff saw had a switch that sticks on, they was told its cheaper to replace than repair so the saw was pitched.

Of course me being the way i am, had to save it from the trash. so now im trying to find a switch. which i figured how hard can it be with google right? so heres the thing, its a rebranded tool, the id tag says its a weatherhead T-60A, now i know weatherhead didnt make the thing they just rebadged it. from looking at photos on the internet i am almost certain jepson is who made it. and i found a part list and got me a switch number. (704079) now i just cant seem to find a place to sell me the switch. all the powertool repair outlets ive come across online dont seem to have anything matching the number and description. jepson has a request form thing where you email them and they will email you back with cost and what not, well i sent a message to the black hole and have not heard anything back.... i guess im not suprised....

so when i take the saw apart and look at the switch it has a name and number on it.... chily 8304 i sure can find out lots of information about it, and even pictures of it, but not someone who will sell me just one without a whole lot of hassle.

i was hoping to find a place where i just click on it and order it like a regular part.... and the mailman brings it to me without having to make a big long ordeal out of it.

so im curious if anyone knows some place maybe to cross an electrical switch to another brand, or maybe a parts outlet i havent found that would sell me one.

and since every story is better with pictures........

oh and one more note, it looks like its the pivot part of the switch thats broke, i guess i could drill it out and put a pin or something in there, id just rather try and fix it right before i go frankensteining it.

My Sears hardware store sell switches for power tools.

They are in an assortment box like the nuts and bolts.

Other than that, google is your friend.

Personally, I would hard-wire it and place a generic switch on the power cord (or find a spot to add a switch to the current body.)
