I just installed a modine heater and tried to start it for the first time. The power vent will run but the unit will not start. It times out and shuts off. I looked while it is trying to fire and I don't see the ignighter sparking. Has anyone else had this problem? I bleed the system at a union I had installed close to the unit so I'm sure its getting gas

I'm not overly familiar with them, but at a high level, there are generally safety checks from what I've learned. In this instance, could such a check be if the ignitor isn't working/ready then the valve will not open to let the gas flow?

Check your electric connections - there were multiple wires in my ADP Cayenne (looks just like Modine's Hot Dawg) that I had to hook up.

Hope that helps,
-Ed

Had my Hot Dawg installed 2 days ago by the dealer I bought it from. It wouldn't start, they played with the board, etc and finally got it going for 30 seconds. They came back today and turns out the thermostat was bad....put on a new one and it works perfect. Took two days and I guess even the pro's can overlook the obvious, but once they figured it out, it was an easy fix. May not be the same problem, but it's worth looking at.
