Need Help With Gasoline Air Compressor

I have a 30 gallon gasoline powered Speedaire brand air compressor. It’s been sitting for somewhere between 7-9 years. I hooked it up to a new battery today and played with the choke a bit and I got it to run really well. Unfortunately, It’s not pumping any air. If I pull one of the relief valves while it is running I get a small amount of air out of it, but not enough to even move the needle. The belt is intact and it is indeed providing power to the actual compressor itself. I’m hoping it’s maybe a stuck regulator. Any ideas? Thanks.

Maybe call Grainger??? They should most likely still have parts options, but maybe they might have someone that might be able to diagnose it. It's a possible start. Good luck.

Thanks for your responses. I finally got a chance to check it out again, as the compressor is not at my house. So I pulled the air filter off the compressor, and I can definitely feel suction, but I can’t quite tell if it is pumping air out as well, so I’m going to go with the major leak route first. I’m thinking I’ll rig something up with a battery powered tire pump to see if I can pump air into the tank, since it is impossible to hear anything with the engine running, especially since I am well on my way to deafness and I wear ear protection around any loud noise. Thanks again.
