So I got a 7 piece Milwaukee tool set with a 2861 Impact 600lbs and it was awesome. One week later it was robbed...So now I need to replace it and was looking to either replace it with same model or with 2864 High Torque 1100lbs ...Im and operating Engineer in a 22 story building in NYC. I work on steam fitting and machinery.
The 2864 is slightly larger and heavier but not by much.. The 2863 High Torque 1400lbs is to heavy and large.
Thoughts?

IIRC the 2864 is 3/4" which seems to be overkill for the intended use. I have both the 2861 mid torque and the 2767 high torque. I work in a manufacturing facility and the mid torque handles just about everything. The high torque only comes out when dealing with bolts in the 24mm range.

Do want OR NEED pin retention is the first question really? :headscrat

The second is the RPM /IPM's are slightly different in the Mode one on each model

The 2861 hog ring Mid torque tool is 510/420 where as the 2860 pin model has 1700/2300

The slower mode speed on the 61 is more suited for running mechanical fasteners down under power without overtorquing and/or creating thread damage

Mine has pin retention, which can be a pain in the *** to switch out the sockets, but while up in a ladder I prefer to not worry about dropping the socket and having to climb back down to get it. Or worse, dropping it on someone's head.
