need some advice, planning my GarageWorks/RaceDeck install

i'm finally getting ready to install my Gladiator GarageWorks flooring, which is basically like RaceDeck. i just realized that I have a side door to the garage that opens "into" the garage and the bottom edge of that door is at floor level. So, if i install the flooring across the area the door sweeps open, it would obstruct the door.

so, what's the best way to approach this?

i thought I could maybe leave a small square without flooring in the area where the door sweeps open. but then I realized I may not be able to get the tiles to fit around that square without cutting. if I end up cutting, then I can't finish it with trim/edge finishing pieces. and if I can't finish it with trim pieces, I've heard it could be a problem rolling heaving items from floor up to tile since the edges aren't as strong? is that right? I definitely roll tool carts out that door sometimes so i don't want to lose that ability nor do i want to damage the floor tile.

the other option is the cut the door shorter. but that would leave a gap under the door when it is closed, which is not desirable as I hate getting mice and lizards in the garage (there's a open valley in the back and a lot of rodents and wildlife that live around here).

any suggestions?

cut the door and get a threshold. Most thresholds are 1/2 high and I'm sure you could get one to meet your need

what is a "threshold" in regards to the door?

Your floor is 1/2" tall, the reason being for just your concern... Most all doors will clear this

not in this case, the door is in contact with the concrete as it opens. after the advice above about a door threshold, i realize this door has none. i may have to install one and cut the door 1/2" shorter...
