My builder put Clemons Concrete Super Seal 30 on my basement slab the day it was poured as a curing aid. The stuff looks pretty good. I called the company and they recommended a second coat, but said it would be fine for shop space and would resist gas and oil.
Today, I was painting the walls and knocked over a can of paint thinner. When I wiped it up, the sealer had become sticky and came up too. So, I'm not too enthused about putting more of the Clemons stuff down now. Is there some other sealer I can topcoat this stuff with that would be more durable? I was thinking that perhaps the Sherwin Williams H&C sealer or stain might do the trick. I don't really have the budget to epoxy the floor, and I'm not sure if I would anyway. I just want to keep a nice smooth and fairly clean work surface.

Update: I emailed Clemons Saturday and they emailed me back at 7:00 this morning, even though they are on central time! They still maintain it is good for automotive, just not some solvents such as tolulene and mineral spirits. However, if I had just let it sit, the solvent would have evaperated and the sealer would have been nice and shiny again. Where I didn't rub the spill confirms this, as it looks nice and shiny like the day it was applied.
