I'm putting 6 - 2 lamp 4 foor fluorescents in my enclosed trailer. Yes, I realize it's complete overkill but that's what I'm all about :shocking:

I would like to put them along the roof/wall edge on a 45 degree angle.

Does anyone have any recommendations on how to do this cleanly?

there is a U channel material that is sold by electrical supply houses for holding fluorescent fixtures (among other electrical boxes etc) that could be run the length of the truck on an angle. I think mounting 4 or 5 4x4 wood blocks along the length in the corner of the trailer and then attaching the metal U channel to those blocks would work fine. The fixture would then just mount onto the track and I know there is hardware to do this as well. Sorry I don't know the names of this stuff but I'm sure you could explain to the supply place and they'd know.

That U channel stuff is sold by a number of different manufacturers, Kindorf and Unistrut are the big names.

However, considering the trailer isn't that wide and the fact the walls are shiny white, I think you could get by just mounting them flat to the ceiling right where they meet the walls - there should be enough reflection that you won't have any shady areas.

+1

You could construct the Brooklyn Bridge with Unistrut.

I agree though that mounting the lights in the center of the trailer, especially if you can get them tight to the underside of the ceiling, would provide adequate light levels, as well as be more "visually comfortable". There are several enclosed low profile fixtures that would work, but I would look for fixtures that can handle the harsh operating conditions of a trailer. The trailer roof supports look perfect for mounting a support system, though I would safety wire the fixtures just in case.

Nice looking trailer. Guess it isn't a "Class Act" model :bounce:

why not just use single lamp fixtures and mount the straight, the trailer interrior will act somewhat as a reflector and will cast the light inward

I've already got the fixtures, so buying new ones is out of the question. They are 2 lamp 4 footers, gasketed with a safety lense on them so that I can use them in high humidity.

2x8x8 triangles.
Like the waste cut outs when they cut stair stringers.
Screw them to the uprights and cross bows and then screw the lights to them.

I considered the 45 but it still had trim to put back up after I replaced the ceiling. I needed the light so i put them up flat. works well. plus I can use the outlets for other things, or rearrange power consumption from the generator for something else.

OK
go to the big box store and buy some 4x4 or 6x6 L brackets.
adjust the bend from a 90 to a 45
pop rivit or screw them to the ribs in the ceiling
attach the lights to the brackets
