And...can't beleive that no one mentioned the blue and titanium covered wrenches, sockets, and ratchets. They are also re-introducing the engraving that was offered during the Christmas season to a year long "thing"

Also, being in the aviation maintainance industry, I see that they are finally offering safety wire pliers. However, they only come two to a set and are "catalog/online exclusinve only" which leads me to beleive that they are only putting their name on the product of someone else.

Those impact swivels are PRICEY! You almost get 2x as much with the SKs.... and the SKs look a lot less bulky.

The Red stuff is a plastic dip coating on the standard black oxide punches and chisels that have been around for ever. The plastic coating is supposed to keep them from rusting, and make them easier to see. The problem is, the stuff peels off the first time you put the punch or chisel in a holder and strike it.

Post a pic or a link to the impact swivels, please...

Are they the same as Matco's, like I've been hearing for a while?

Nevermind...

Went to sears.com and searched for "impact swivel".

You can buy the 3/8" drive 10-18mm swivel from them for $229.

Or go to Matco and get the same set (but it's 10-19mm) for extra. It's $375 now for the SBUPM106TB set...

I love my Matco swivel sockets, but I'm glad I bought them on sale for $310ish.

yeah!!! matco tool and craftsman swivel design are same because it made by same company as danaher. so i prefer matco tools to have my swivel replace than craftsman because they are not in store as only order on internet....

Danaher is the parent company that owns Matco; so who made the Craftsman swivel design sockets?
:)

You assume correctly.

Got a link to them? I'd like to check them out, but want to make sure we're looking at the same ones.

Yes Matco tools are Business of Danaher. Craftsman sockets are made by Danaher company. matco tool and craftsman swivel socket are same one.

but if you work in shop then i would recommend you get matco tools instead craftsman because matco tool dealer have it in stock and ready to replace for you if it have problem or broke instead go sears and have them order and ship to your address (wait for like 2 or 3 days before it will arrive)

i have few matco swivel impact socket and it is very smooth and small so i can go in tight area.

Dang!

bmwpower, are these the ones you're talking about:

http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/product.do?pid=00919365000&vertical=Sears&BV_UseBVCookie=Yes

10 metrics (10mm - 19mm)
9 SAE (5/16" - 3/4")
3 Extensions
1 5/8" spark-plug swivel

That's a heck of a deal, compared to the other stuff, plus it's got the SK name, AND they're a lot slimmer sockets.

Uuuummmm... another resurrected thread...

I can't remember which one I was referring to, but looking at the choices on sears.com again, it looks like any of the SK sets are cheaper than the Craftsman sets.

After considering TNT's points about the design strength of the Matco/Craftsman swivels, I think I'd probably go with the Craftsman if I was a pro...but they are a little more bulky.

Again, I wouldn't use these everyday, but the last thing you need is a broken tool on the weekend with you trans half in/half out.

I'm still considering going with Grey Pneumatic due to low funds...
