Hello all,

This is my first post and thanks in advance.

I am wanted to build a detached 24x24 garage that is 8-10 feet off the house and wanting to connect to house-mud room by indoor breezeway. There is already door leading outside onto small deck from mud room which will be removed. What is the correct way to construct the breezeway... pour foundation connecting to house and new garage? Or is there a way off doing so like you would build a deck?

1. Where are you located? Frost depth??

2. What are the rules/laws for attached vs detached garages in your town/area? It can sometimes be a benefit. Sometimes not. And sometimes what one jurisdiction says 'is attached' in another it might not.

I'm in a suburb of St. Louis, MO. I am in an area where it is allowed to build detached buildings/garage. My lot size is 1.25acres. I already have one detached 3 car garage perpendicular to be current house and garage about 30yds from house.
