Was hunting down info for a compressor problem and found a thread between Tmejia and redmondjp that was epic! Whoever redmondjp is, I owe him/her a solid. I never knew what the heck "SPL" meant on a HP rating and that manufacturers have been lying to us on HP ratings for years! Had I not read the thread and learned about the AMP draw between a 3HP and 7HP motor, I would have upgraded to a larger compressor and ultimately burned out my 7HP SPL (really 3HP/15AMP) motor. So, many thanks to redmondjp (whoever you are!).
