I’m trying to educate myself before I have a metal pole barn built for my RV. This looks like the place I need to go.
I hope to avoid a concrete floor, since I don’t need a full enclosure. I do have a good solid ground base with 57 stone on top. I was thinking of just having the back side go almost to the ground to keep direct sunlight off of it during the winter months.
I’ve done some research and found that the tallest RVs are 13.5’, so I was considering the opening/roof to be 14’. For width, I’m considering 16’. I’ve been thinking 32’ long with metal posts at 8’ apart.
The reason for 8’ increments is so the next owner can expand the length if his/her RV is longer than my 28’.
Questions:
What do you guys recommend for depth/diameter, concrete psi, etc?
What type of metal/strength/thickness and diameter, etc. for poles?
I don’t need over kill, but I don’t want it to be flimsy, either.
If I’m in the wrong place, please direct me.
Thanks.
