Hey All,
Joined the board a while back. This is a great site. Thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself. Until I bought my first house, I did not have any tools to speak off, my manual dexterity was poor and I know little about how things work. I did not help that my father was the epitome of the guy who was NOT handy.
As I had to face the cost of home repairs and the ridiculous prices of having someone do it for you, I decided I was going to take a whack at doing things myself. I am glad I did. Although things that should have taken five minutes tom complete some times took over an hour and the results were sometimes less than perfect, I am glad I perservered.
While I still consider myself a novice, I feel like I've come a long way. Shortly after I bought my house I picked up a 68 camaro in need of some tlc. Once again, with the help of some reading and buddies I fixed it up mostly myself.
For a guy who spends the entire day in an office, I find working on the car or or projects relaxing. Being in the garage with some good tunes and working on a project gets me away from all the nonsense and stress of life. Plus nothing beats the satisfaction of fixing or building something yourself.
I am constantly trying to learn more, thats why I am here.
Please accept my appolgies for a foolish post every so often and remember, I am still learning.
