Hey guys, just joined this site, loving it already!

I just bought a house up in New Hampshire, closing on it next week. It's a new construction and has an 800 sq ft garage. Anyway, before I do anything at all I want to do something to the garage floor. I saw the garage floor epoxy in Lowes and was all ready to get it next week but now after reading through this site Im wondering if there are better options?

As for the epoxy though, do I need to use the etching solution if it's a brand new garage? There isnt any oil or anything obviously in the concrete yet, so can I just clean it real good and apply the epoxy?

I plan on being here for quite a while and using this garage a real lot so I'd like a floor that will really last a long time and look great. If that means spending a few extra bucks on a better brand epoxy, or maybe on those VCT tiles, I'm all for that. Any advice would be great, thanks guys!

Hi, Welcome to the board! In response to your questions. You probably will want to stay away from the water-based products offered at the big box stores. Secondly, you will need to "profile" your concrete with usually either an acid or diamond grinder, this is to ensure a good bond. PM me if you want me to answer any other questions you may have.
