I have a bench vice, garage sale purchase, that I’m trying to find history on.
I’ve only manage to find one similar picture on the internet of all things. It’s a pic of a smaller version: with a number 1 on, in the cast base. The vice I have is a #3. The jaws are 3” wide. The other pics found have same body style without any make markings or identification. One of my fellow California blacksmith assoc. members said my vice might be from a former DDR,East German, people’s owned factory called Volks Eigenier Betriebe, or its prdisessor; Liebsiger Eisen and stalwerk. Befor the war. Anywho, love the style form and design detail.
