Good morning folks. I'm glad I found this forum. I've been trying to find a forum like this for all of the old tools that I have acquired.
First off I am an Air Force vet. I spent the majority of my four years from 1970 to 1974 (after boot and school) in North Carolina at Seymour Johnson AFB.
I went to the Air Traffic Control in Biloxi Mississippi. Then was shipped to Seymour Johnson. After getting out of the military, I joined the FAA and worked in Louisiana for 5 years until the PATCO union went on strike and we all got fired by President Reagan.
Now I own a pest control company. I've been in the pest control business for 25 years and have had my own company for 16 years. I get to help people, make friends, and control my own destiny.
My grandfather was a master cabinet maker and I have some of his tools I'd like to have someone identify for me.
And I have recently acquired 2 vices. The big one took two young men to carry out to my truck. It was sitting on a work bench in a three story all wood antebellum mansion from the 1930's. I traded the owner a bucket of rat bait for the vise. The other vise i paid $40.00 for. it was sitting in the backyard of a rental home on a homemade pedestal.
So that's my story and I'm glad to be here, I hope to learn a lot and make a lot of friends.
