Above 1200 Sq/FT New Shop Build Start

I am having trouble getting started. I have a lot in a semi-urban area (outside the city limits) but NOT out in the country and would like a red iron 30x50 shop. I have done lots of searches and when I was living in TX knew tons of people who have them and could provide recommendations.

Do most people start with the manufacturer/supplier and let them recommend builders or is there a better way to search for builders and use whatever kit they are used to putting up?

I went through Mueller for an engineered bolt up. They are primarily based in Texas but support Surrounding states it looks like. Wasn't cheap, but it was also a glorified erector set which made it doable for myself.
