Snagged a new toy today, a Matco 1838 18v 3/8" impact. Didn't really need one, as I already have DeWalt 18v 3/8 & 1/2" impacts. Couldn't turn it down for the price, and considering it has as much torque as the DeWalt 18v 1/2" impact, should get a lot of use in the shop. Its just a little bit bigger than a DeWalt 3/8" impact, but considerably smaller than the 1/2". Battery life should be better, but I am curious to see how long the Matco will last. Kit only came with one battery, and considering an extra battery from Matco ($239) costs more than what I paid for the set ($150), doesn't look like I will be adding one anytime soon.
