NMD90 or RWU in 6/3???

Running wire to my garage from the panel inside the house, and not sure what I need. The wire will be ran through a 1-1/4" conduit under ground. I was told the only difference between NMD and the RWU is that NMD is 600 volts and RWU 1000. My garage will eventually run a small welder and an air compressor, so I am wondering which is best to go with. The RWU is a little difficult to get which is why I ask, but I want to go with the better choice. Either will be in 6/3 and wired to a sub panel in the garage.

NMD is not allowed underground. Conduit underground is considered a wet location.

I'm not familiar with Canadian wire so I'll defer to someone else. I've seen Teck90 cable mentioned by people in your area being used as a feeder.

6/3 NMWU is what you are looking for in a cable,common as dirt and available just about anywhere in Ontario.I would run something larger though,such as #2 aluminum RW90 with that 1-1/4".

I second pulling some larger rw90. Why pull a cable assembly through a conduit?

Nmd cannot go in the ground though. You would have to use nmwu if your set on the 6/3. Since your in canada ontario don't forget to pull the bonding screw in your neutral bar on that sub panel

The great thing about teck wire is you can direct bury it, you can run it inside, outside, wet or dry locations, it's code legal in just about every situation you can think of.

As stated I'd go for something larger though, #2 copper.
