Here's the deal. I ordered a bench grinder with belt sander attachment from Northern tool. I received it and the damned thing would not come up to speed, just turn real slow with no power (it was very cold about 0 degrees outside). So I sent it back and they sent me a new one which worked fine (40 degrees outside). Now the temp dropped back down to 10 degrees and it doesn't come up to speed now. wtf is the problem aside from cheap foreign made junk. Is there something I can do to make it operate when its cold.

Warm it up. Not trying to be sarcastic but the grease in the bearings is cold and stiff. Also once you shut it down after use it can condense moisture in the motor. I have seen motors frozen solid by this. Heat lamp prior to use.

Heat lamp just might work. Or maybe I will install the belt sander attachment onto my good grinder, the belt sander attachment is the only reason why I bought the damn thing.

Damn I saw that on special for 60$ and almost bought it. I too wanted the belt and woudla put a wire wheel on the other side. Oh well, good thing! Id imagine that belt setup needs ALOT of power to get turning. When it gets warmer and you can use it normally, let us know how it works out. Mine would be in a basement so it stays about 65* or so year round.
