They are made by Witte. This was before the Carlyle days. They also have some Gearwrench clone socket sets and USA MADE wrenches and ratchets.

FYI, I have been working with the guy from that site for a few days on a decent sized order of 3/4" and 1" drive tools. He was quick to communicate and flexible.

BTW, he is Sellular216 on eBay

I actually met him today. He is local to me and has a warehouse here. I plan on doing some business with him soon. He did say he would do custom sets if needed. I have more sockets than I would ever need same with screwdrivers. But I am still buying a set of those.

So I find that those other sets do appear to also be Witte made. Interestingly, Cripes also sells the contents of the 4 piece stubby/small set individually for about the same price if anyone just wanted one or two small ones. The big 16 piece set looks like a good deal too if you can use them. - Paul

If you like that ratchet, yes it's a decent deal. That ratchet was made prior to the birth of Apex. Technically, it was made in Armstrong tool factories when Danaher called the shots. It is not Carlyle brand. Think back to Napa professional hand tools before the current Carlyle, before the Gearwrench clones, to a time of over priced US Made goodness.

It's a nice ratchet based upon the 36 tooth ratcheting action found back in the day on Craftsman/KD/Allen/Master Mechanic and others.
