Nuking threads

Why nuke entire threads because some guy wants to be internet hero and tell lies?

I had a great thread on a very exciting new e motorcycle and the whole thing is gone. What's up with that? Lot's of us guys are excited by the bike and were discussing it like normal human beings, others were busting chops and laughing at each other bench racing like me and ZRX. No need to throw the baby out with the bath water.

I was wondering why i could not find the post. I was reading the thread then had to work and was looking for it again to read the rest

This complaint has been posted before and the responses are generally that it takes a bunch of time to clean up threads and if they went sideways once, they will probably go sideways again

The problem is that it didn't really go that sideways. No names were called, and it was fairly civil even though one guy was what I like to call a sh!t salesman with a mouthful of samples.

Such is life, I guess. Maybe something got posted that you didn't see or the mods have a different perception than you of what sideways is.

That, and a lot of times things go nuts after you go to bed, and you didn't see how "sideways" it got after you logged out. Not speaking of this thread in particular since I'm not familiar with it, just speaking in general.

Some times it's easier to just nuke the thread when it starts going the wrong way. Many times I have cleaned up a thread to have it go right back on the rails of the turd train.
