I did something similar in a previous house by swiss cheesing some OSB pieces.

but tract home developers are too cheap... so you get sloppy wiring

I don't know, I just saw a photo of it.

I've never seen a spec home done this well... Or a custom home either, but I'm down south. Electrical gets a lot neater north of Oklahoma.

I used those or something like them when I wired my house 20 years ago. I wouldn't call it OCD, just doing things right and not half assed.
